Biographical Profile
Nana Yaa Asuamah, known in private life as Mary Asuamah, , hails from the Asona Clan and serves as the Queenmother’s Linguist (Kyeamehemaa 3rd in command) in the Atebubu Traditional Area. She is the third Queenmother of the Kwabena Asante Stool.
She is the daughter of the late Yaw Mensah of Karachi and Maame Yaa Adusa of Amentiase. Nana completed her basic education in Atebubu and later trained as a seamstress, becoming a successful businesswoman.
She is the proprietor of MaryLand Preparatory School, where she now focuses her full attention. Nana previously served as a Government Appointee Assemblywoman for two terms from 2000 to 2008, and also held roles as Presbyter and Senior Presbyter in the church. She is blessed with two daughters, and is known for her dedication to community service, education and the cultural heritage of Atebubuman.
