The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Bono and Bono East Regional Directorate, has appealed for support to revive its operations in Atebubu, including the regularization of land documentation and the establishment of a new FM station. The request was made on August 18, 2025, during a working visit to the Paramount Chief of Atebubu Traditional Area, HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, at his resident.
The GBC delegation reaffirmed its commitment to restoring a vibrant media presence in Atebubu, noting that the area had suffered years of neglect. They emphasized the strategic importance of establishing a functional radio station to serve the Bono East enclave and appealed for the support of Ohempon and the Traditional Council to achieve this goal.

It was revealed during discussions that GBC currently lacks formal documentation for the land on which its equipment in Atebubu is located. Despite consultations with their offices in Techiman and Accra, the necessary records could not be traced. Consequently, the delegation sought the assistance of the Paramount Chief and the Atebubu Traditional Council in facilitating the registration and documentation of the land.
The team further assured residents that digital television channels would be restored within two to three months, adding that negotiations were underway with NEDCo and VRA to clear outstanding electricity-related issues that had hindered operations.
In his response, Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah explained that the Atebubu Stool Lands Secretariat (ASLS) had on several occasions attempted to engage GBC regarding the said lands, but without success. He, however, assured the delegation that the available plots of land would be properly surveyed and allocated to the corporation, while emphasizing the critical need to complete the official documentation process.
Ohempon further noted that securing legal registration of the land would mark a major milestone in strengthening GBC’s presence in Atebubu.

He pledged his unwavering support towards the successful revival of GBC’s operations in the municipality.
The renewed collaboration between GBC and the Atebubu Traditional Authority, led by Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, represents a shared commitment to revitalizing the media landscape in Atebubu.
