Biographical Profile

Nana Yaw Asare Baffour, is known privately as Yaw Asare, and currently serves as the Patudahene and Ntotoyɛhene of the Atebubu Traditional Area. He hails from the Asona clan, one of the prominent matrilineal royal houses in Akan tradition.

His elevation to the Ntotoyɛhene stool is of historical significance, as he is the first individual to occupy this office since its creation. 

This pioneering role positions him at the foundation of the stool’s identity, responsibility, and long-term relevance in the chieftaincy hierarchy.

Prior to his elevation as Ntotoyɛhene by HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah in 2024, he served as Patudahene and Odikuro from 28th September 2020, demonstrating loyalty, commitment, and distinguished service to his community.

 

He is the son of Opanin Kwaku Appiah of Asante Mampong and Maame Elizabeth Addo of Patuda. Nana is married to Mrs. Joyce Appiah, and they are blessed with four children.

Professionally, he has worked as a driver at Atebubu Senior High School for twenty-five years, from 1 April 2000 to date, while simultaneously engaging in farming as his secondary occupation. His dual service reflects consistency, responsibility, and dedication to both livelihood support and community development.

 

Today, Nana Yaw Asare Baffour continues to embody humility, service-oriented leadership, and cultural stewardship as Ntotoyɛhene, actively contributing to the progress and cohesion of Atebubuman
